We do not own the copyright of the news stories re-published on this
site, and do not pretend to own it. On the other hand, the owners of
the copyright of the news stories included here have already published
these news stories for free public access on the Internet. We only
re-publish these reports in an easy-access format, as a public,
not-for-profit service. In our opinion, it makes a big difference
whether a copyright owner has already decided to give away his or her
content for free on the Internet, or whether a publisher makes his
content available strictly only for pay. We support the right of the
entertainment industry to produce movies and music strictly for sale.
But we believe that the copyright for intellectual content that has
already been put onto the Internet for free public access should be
replaced by a legal framework that requires re-publishers to properly
attribute such content to the original copyright owner, and to provide
a backlink to the website on which this content was originally
published for free access. Furthermore, we support the right of the
original creator of free content to request removal from sites to
which the original creator does not agree. We ourselves will remove
all content of any copyright holder if so requested by the copyright
holder. We would never re-publish text which the original copyright
owner has not decided to put on the Internet for free public
access.
